Kiln cars are used in shuttle and tunnel kilns. A lot of energy is used to heat-up the kiln cars in addition to the energy spent to heat-up the products. The heavier the kiln car is, the more energy is wasted.
A great portion of this energy can be saved with the right kiln car design, especially in cases where the products are loaded on shelves that are placed on a supporting frame. A super-structure of SiC beams carries the load of products and is supported in specific points, mainly the corners. The super-structure is supported underneath with high-temperature heavy refractory. The rest of the kiln car is built with Lite-Cell products: - Lite-Cell boards and bricks - for the perimeter and for the top surface.
- Lite-Cell loose pellets - for the inner volume.
This structure provides maximal energy savings with very easy & quick construction. For more details see our publication page. |
